Apparently at this time in Middlesbrough there were some Lithuanians living on the South Bank and working at the ‘Bolckow and Vaughan’ Steelworks, which was owned by a Mr Bolckow who was German. Lithuanian families came from Suvalkija (South West Lithuania), those who could afford too had emigrated to the USA and the rest came to England.
