Enlisted as 67476 Private Harold Baker, into the Cheshire Regiment

Landed in France post 1915 and joined 13th (Service) Battalion, Cheshire Regiment

16 Feb 1918 The 13th Battalion was disbanded in France and he was posted to the ‘A’ Company, 11th (Service) Battalion, Cheshire Regiment

11 April 1918 captured at the Battle of Messines

7 Oct 1918 listed as a POW at Stendal. The camp lay 1 mile north-east of the town, and was the parent camp for a number of work camps, holding 15,000 men

17 Feb 1919 Re-enlisted into RASC at Frongoch, North Wales aged 19. Nok: (Mother) Emily Baker, 117 Medlock Street, Kirkdale, Liverpool     Occupation Motor Driver. Posted to No.1 Reserve Motor Transport Depot as a Lorry Driver

18 Sept 1919 posted to Osterley Park.

10 May 1920 posted to the Local Transport Company, Winchester

3 July 1920 posted to 1155 Motor Transport Company at Cork and attached to 1st Battalion Essex Regiment

1921 Mar 19. Died in Crossbarry Ambush

1921 Mar 24, Buried at Anfield Cemetery , Liverpool. Age 21 Years 3 months. Address 16 Kirkdale Vale.
